The artist behind the work

Before GMTD, there was Wallstreet Wes.

Wesley Robinson has worked as a professional poet for twenty years. His voice has taken him from Cleveland rooms to national stages, including America's Got Talent.

Along the way, he learned that making art and building a life around art are different kinds of work. “Wallstreet Wes” became a name for the artist who could do both.

That road shaped the way he enters a room today: as the poet, the businessman, the performer, and the person who has had to find language for pressure in his own life.

The story behind GMTD

The business of art became a way to serve.

In 2018, Wesley founded Great Minds Think Different to bridge creative expression and professional life.

His own path required him to perform, build, lead, sell, adapt, and keep creating while navigating the pressure that comes with turning art into a livelihood. That experience shaped a simple conviction: people need more than instructions when the human weight of work gets heavy.

GMTD became the place where Wesley could bring poetry out of the performance-only frame and into rooms where people lead teams, serve communities, move through change, and rarely get a structured moment to name what the work has asked of them.

We are dedicated to serving people who are serving people.

Why poetry in a group

A small amount of language can open a different kind of attention.

People hear how colleagues see the same prompt differently. A line from one person changes what another person notices. By the end, the group has made something no individual could have made alone.

Scope stays clear

The Poetry Clinic is a facilitated creative-expression and team-development experience.

It is not therapy, clinical treatment, crisis intervention, legal mediation, or a substitute for licensed care. Participants may pass on any activity or question.

We will tell you plainly whether a Poetry Clinic fits what you are planning.
